911 Picture Messaging to Work in NYC

This year, New York City will the the first city in the world to upgrade “911″ call centers to receive digital images and videos via multimedia messaging (MMS), which is built into every camera phone.

So if you ever see a crime in progress in New York City, you’ll be able to transmit images or video you’ve taken with your phone to 911, and let the NYPD take care of the rest.

Amazing! I hope the call centers in Tallahassee, FL would do the same thing as NYC.
